Burgundy creeper

This modest-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 30 feet (9.1 meters) and growing as high as 307 feet (93.6 meters). It prefers to grow on trees.

It takes 3 years for the burgundy stems to mature, by which point they often have a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are thick and twisted.

The thick, fuzzy leaves reach up to 11 inches (28 cm) in length. They are blood red and lilac, and have toothed edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces several giant blood red flowers, and during the mid-summer, after flowering, it produces lots of small berries.
