Azurefruit

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 72 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in wrinkled, brown bark, and inside, the light wood is white with black speckles.

The small bunches of branches are short stubs and are covered with sparse amounts of large, 3 pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are either gentle yellow, or deep green with azure patches.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of small, white blossoms with sickle shaped petals. They fall easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like bleach.

In mid-summer it produces tiny, broad, flat fruit. The smooth beige skin is delicate and edible when cooked; it is sweet, and the slightly crunchy deep green flesh is very spicy and very dry. The grey seed is tiny and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
