Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In marshes, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is average-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is very frail.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release millions of spores.
