Copper Blossom
Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its stem)This colossal flower grows up to 16.3 feet (5.0 meters) tall. Its gray-green stems grow in bunches of 8 and are wispy with a curved tip, and the miniature, copper leaves are light moss green on the underside and are 2 pointed with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.
Each stem splits 2 to 6 times; a single tiny flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 122 cm (48.0 inches) wide, with cream petals and a yellow center. The flower head is made up of 13 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight sphere. They detach easily.
It has an overpowering scent that smells like cheese, and it has an average amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.
