Copperflower

Flower type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This enormous flower grows up to 7.4 feet (2.3 meters) tall. Its moss green stem is wispy and splits into 5 branching stems a quarter of the way up, and the tiny, orange-yellow leaves are wide with irregular edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Two giant flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 50 cm (19.7 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of copper. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 40 curved petals. They fall easily.

It has a weak scent that smells like roses, and it has very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
