Bronze

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 29 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, crooked trunk covered in hard, cracked, dark green bark, and inside, the flexible wood is black with white speckles.

The sparse patches of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of small, wide leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are brown on the edges and lilac at the center.

In early spring, it produces many bunches of medium-sized, washed-out red blossoms with long, narrow petals. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like petrol.

In early winter it produces tiny, stiff, pointed fruit. The crispy bronze skin is tough and sweet and salty, and the crunchy gold flesh is slightly sweet and very dry. The white seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
