Bluebell

This modest-sized flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its brown stem is wispy and straight, and the large, yellow-green leaves are needle-like with smooth edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

3 to 6 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with petals that are hazel in the center, sky blue in the middle and black at the edges. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 petals. They fall easily.

It has a strong scent that smells like rotten meat, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is visited by a large variety of them.
