Burgundy Azurefruit

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 27 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in thin, knobbly, burgundy bark, and inside, the soft wood is pale yellow.

The abundance of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of small, very thick leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are solid azure with gentle purple dots.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of small, silver blossoms with 8 V-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like musk.

In early winter it produces large, stiff, pointed fruit. The soft red skin is stretchy and inedible, and the crunchy azure flesh is spicy and dry. The black seed is tiny and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.

It can survive a very long time without water.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
