Violet Vine

This massive vine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 755 feet (230.1 meters) and growing as high as 496 feet (151.2 meters). It prefers to grow on trees.

It takes 39 years for the gray stems to mature, by which point they often have a diameter of 4.0 feet (1.2 meters) and are rough and prickly.

The broad, flat, smooth leaves reach up to 3.8 feet (1.1 meters) in length. They are found in violet and blue varieties, and have irregular edges.

During late spring, the vine produces thick bunches of average pale red flowers.
