Copper Blue Succulent

This short leaf succulent grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The wispy stem is gray-green, and is covered in large amounts of flexible blue spines. The wavy-edged, thick leaves are solid drab blue or blood red, with copper splotches. Thick bunches of them grow from the base like rose petals. The leaves are hardy, but detach easily.

It is fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with violet petals and a red central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 9 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 40 curved petals. It has an intense scent that smells like leather.

The leaf succulent's skin is delicate, the sky blue flesh is waxy, and the caramel sap is thin.
