Waterleaf Tree

This small tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 172 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a wide, wonky trunk covered in thin, wrinkled, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is white.

The small clumps of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of leathery, tiny, very narrow and elongated leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are solid pale green with caramel dots.

In late summer it forms small, white, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
