Copperbloom

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This enormous shrub grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for around 25 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of very thick, crooked stems covered in fine, ridged, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright that and are covered with small amounts of large, slender, pointed, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are brilliant yellow at the bottom and cream with indigo patches at the top, robust and crispy.

In late summer it produces handfuls of tiny, copper flowers with many layers of petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have an overpowering scent that smells like ashes.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
