Caramel Fruit Tree

This enormous fruit tree grows up to 57 feet (17.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 48 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in rough, light gray bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is yellow-brown.

The numerous branches are short, thin and wispy and are covered with copious amounts of giant, long, narrow leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are either white or caramel, with muted blue edges.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of giant, crimson blossoms with perforated petals. They are very delicate and have a mildly strong scent that smells like mango.

In early summer it produces small, long, tapering fruit. The rubbery gentle green skin is thick and inedible, and the crunchy hazel flesh is bitter and spicy and oily. The cream seed is small and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
