Caramelvine

This average-sized flower grows up to 2.0 feet (61 cm) tall. Its caramel and white stems grow in bunches of 3 and are thick with a curved tip, and the tiny, copper leaves are stiff, pointed with jagged edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

6 to 10 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 30 cm (11.8 inches) wide, with pink petals and a yellow center. The flower head is made up of 49 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. They fall easily.

It has a mildly strong scent that smells like rotting meat, and it has very little pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
