Amber

This short leaf succulent grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is lime green, and is covered in sharp spines. The lumpy leaves are amber on the edges and pastel red at the center. Small amounts of them grow on thin, olive or cyan branches that are short and thin. The leaves are flexible, and detach easily.

It is very slow growing, taking 33 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are vibrant orange on the underside and aquamarine on the top, grow at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 26 raised round-tipped petals. It has the faintest scent that smells like faeces.

The leaf succulent's skin is delicate, the yellow flesh is sticky, and the aquamarine sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.
