Purplevine

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 52 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wonky trunk covered in thick, waxy, brown and grey bark, and inside, the dense wood is yellow-brown.

The small handful of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of huge, stiff, pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are generally brilliant purple.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of small, amber blossoms with broad, flat petals. They fall easily and have no scent.

In early winter it produces , cuboid fruit. The waxy peach skin is stretchy and inedible, and the crunchy white flesh is salty and sticky. The black seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
