Aquamarine Dishflower

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.9 feet (58 cm) tall. Its blood red and brilliant red stems grow in bunches of 3 and are very thick and straight, and the huge, pink-red leaves are stiff, pointed with ripped edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

A single medium-sized flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with petals that are light brown at the sides and aquamarine at the center. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of 9 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are very delicate.

It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like chocolate, and it has very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
