Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In damp forests.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is overwhelmingly light.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release millions of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
