Lilac

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 175 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, angular trunk covered in silky, gray bark, and inside, the light wood is brown.

The small bunches of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with sparse amounts of soft, giant, circular leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are blood red at the bottom and lilac with peach edges at the top.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of small, red blossoms with 2 umbrella-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like baby powder.

In late summer it forms large, cream berries.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.

Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
