Copperactus

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 67 feet (20.4 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 5 very thick stems. Each stem is copper, and is covered in lots of flexible bold green spines. The tear-shaped body is burgundy, and is covered in dozens of rigid beige spines.

It is slow growing, taking 20 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with copper petals and a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a cup with 48 tightly layered, narrow petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like fruity.

The cactus's skin is thin, the violet flesh is rough, and the intense purple sap is thin and causes diarrhea if consumed.
