Bluebell Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This short cactus grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 3 slender, pointed stems. Each stem is green, and is covered in dozens of flexible white spines.

It is quick growing, taking 6 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are yellow at the sides and pale purple at the center grows at the top, reappearing once every 5 years. The flower head is shaped like a cup with 46 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has a faint scent that smells like rotten meat.

The cactus's skin is very thick, the sky blue flesh is soft, and the bronze sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.
