Copper Starflower

This small flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its copper stems grow in bunches of 3 and are thin with a curved tip, and the tiny, moss green leaves are needle-like with jagged edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Two tiny flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with solid white petals decorated with light brown dots and a hazel central disk. The flower head is shaped like a star made up of 17 tightly layered, narrow petals. They are hardy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like something putrid, and it has copious amounts of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is visited by a large variety of them.
