Blackwood

This short tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 459 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in fine, waxy, light brown bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is burgundy-brown.

The sparse amount of branches are short stubs and are covered with sparse amounts of crispy, large, spear shaped leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are olive on the sides and black at the center.

In late summer it forms giant, silver berries.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
