Crimson Tailgrass

Grass type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)

This short, pink-red grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The perforated stalks grow in large clumps that are flimsy.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, red tail.

During the early autumn, it produces very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of small grains.

It is suitable for making paper
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
