Silverwood

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This huge tree grows up to 117 meters (383.9 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 89 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in knobbly, light gray bark, and inside, the dense wood is silver.

The small bunches of branches are long, thin and wispy and are covered with large amounts of sticky, small, finger-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are cyan and blood red.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, slate seed pods.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.

It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
Several parts of the fruit tree have medicinal properties.
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
