Azure Trumpet

This small flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its green stems grow in bunches of 7 and are thin with a curved tip, and the large, emerald leaves are light beige and brown on the underside and are sickle shaped with toothed edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Each stem splits 4 to 7 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with solid azure petals decorated with white lines and a beige central disk. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight trumpet. They are very delicate.

It has a weak scent that smells like baby powder, and it has excessive amounts of pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by one species of insect in particular.
