Ashy Purple

This small flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its gray-green stem is thick, and the miniature, yellow-green leaves are dark ashy purple on the underside and are 2 pointed with wavy edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Two large flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 20 cm (7.9 inches) wide, with white petals and a muted red central disk. The flower head is made up of several petals in raised layers. They are very delicate.

It has a fairly strong scent that smells like skunk spray, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
