Twining Crimson Willow

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 63 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous long and flexible, straight stems covered in fine, knobbly, black with white speckled bark, and the wood inside is silver.

The branches trail down to the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of small, umbrella-shaped, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are solid crimson with bright blue patches, hardy and fuzzy.

In late summer it produces dozens of medium-sized, beige flowers with fan-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like fermented fruit.
