Bronze

This short leaf succulent grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall. The fan-like stem is green, and is covered in copious amounts of rigid bronze spines. The irregular-edged, finger-like leaves are solid green with dark grey lines. Large amounts of them grow from the base in a symmetrical pattern. The leaves are light, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is slow growing, taking 6 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are generally hazel; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour, grow at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 10 tightly layered round-tipped petals. It has a soft scent that smells like damp.

The leaf succulent's skin is nearly impenetrable, the orange flesh is slimy, and the dull yellow sap is thin.
