Violetwood

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This large tree grows up to 74 meters (242.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 82 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a narrow, twisting trunk covered in hard, rough, dark gray bark, and inside, the hard wood is dark brown.

The small handful of branches are very long and slender and are covered with thick bunches of clammy, small, needle-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in purple and violet varieties.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of medium-sized, brown blossoms with long, narrow petals. They are very delicate and have a faint scent that smells like cherry.

In late summer it forms large, hazel, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for making strong rope
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
