Blazegrass
Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)This short, orange grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The long, narrow stalks grow in large clumps that are strong and they overwhelm an area rapidly.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, black tail.
During the early winter, it produces lots of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with a modest amount of medium-sized grains.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
The leaves are high in natural sugars.
