This vibrant yellow moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In rainforests.
It is average-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they are slow to spread and grow, and is overwhelmingly frail.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release dozens of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

It is very resistant to fire damage.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
