Bluevine

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This huge shrub grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 172 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has dozens of slender, angular stems covered in thick, silky, pine-coloured bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches are short, thin and wispy with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of small, 8 pointed, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are black and vibrant blue, frail and fuzzy.

In early summer it produces many medium-sized, crimson blossoms with finger-like petals. They fall easily and have a powerful scent that smells like vomit.

In late winter tiny long, curved fruits ripen. The fuzzy dull green skin is stretchy and inedible, and the very soft purple flesh is spicy and syrupy. The light green seed is small and sits at the top of the fruit.

It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
