Bloodvine

This short caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The thick stem is red, and is covered in brittle bronze spines. The curved, blood red trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter at the top. Its silver branches are very long and thin and start growing at the base the stem.

The small amounts of serrated-edged, thick leaves are found in purple and caramel varieties. They are rigid, but do not detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with solid lime petals and a crimson central disk grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 7 petals in raised layers. It has no scent.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the hazel flesh is smooth, and the red sap is thin.
