Copper

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This small leaf succulent grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. The spear shaped stem is yellow, and is covered in lots of rigid lime spines. The wavy-edged, spear shaped leaves are copper and amber. Handfuls of them grow from the base in alternating layers of 3, then 6, then 9, and so on. The leaves are frail, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 11 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are either pale red or turquoise, with a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. It has an intense scent that smells like musk.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the olive flesh is rough, and the lime sap is thin.

Ivy often grows along the trunk.
The pollen is overwhelmingly toxic to people but not to certain animals.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
