Caramel Succulent
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This short leaf succulent grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. The very thick stem is orange, and is covered in brittle brown spines. The rounded leaves are caramel on the edges and blood red at the center. Very large amounts of them grow on thick, orange branches that are short, rigid and upright. The leaves are fairly frail, and easily come away when pulled.
It is very fast growing, taking 9 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are lime at the sides and caramel at the center grows at the top, reappearing once every 2 years. The flower head is shaped like a bowl with 53 widely spaced, narrow petals. It has a soft scent that smells like mint.
The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the peach flesh is rough, and the lime sap is thin.
Offering it in a bouquet is supposed to bring good luck.
It can survive a very long time without water.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
