Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This small bine is a quick growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 11 feet (3.4 meters) and growing as high as 51 feet (15.5 meters). It prefers to grow on specific trees.
It takes 10 months for the bronze and beige stems to mature, by which point they each have a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are soft and flexible.
The thin, clammy leaves reach up to 4 inches (10 cm) in length. They are generally olive, and have toothed edges.
During late spring, the bine produces many bunches of average cyan flowers, and during the mid-summer, after flowering, it produces lots of small seed pods.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It blooms only at night.
