Lilac Moss

This lilac moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas In rainforests, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is overwhelmingly light.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release millions of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
