Black Spikelet Grass
Grass type: Annual (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This modest-sized, brown grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The pleated stalks grow in small clumps that are resilient.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, black spikelet.
During the early summer, it produces very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with plenty of tiny grains.
Ivy often grows along the trunk.
