Goldenbell

Shrub type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This huge shrub grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall and lives for around 44 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several branched, crooked stems covered in fine, silky, dark green bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches trail down to the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of huge, very thick, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are found in gold, lime and crimson varieties, durable and leathery.

It produces a handful of large, brown flowers with many layers of petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have no scent. In late summer it forms medium-sizedgreen, tough-shelled seeds.

The petals are excellent for making pulp fibers
It is often referred to as the most beautiful of all flowers.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
