Copperfern

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 170 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in knobbly, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the hard wood is yellow-brown.

The excessive amount of branches are short and thin and are covered with large amounts of fuzzy, small, triangular leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are bronze on the edges and aquamarine at the center.

In early spring, it produces many clusters of large, copper blossoms with slender, pointed petals. They fall easily and have a faint scent that smells like perfume.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, silver, shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
Offering it in a bouquet is supposed to bring good luck.
