Burgundyvine

This average-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 49 feet (14.9 meters) and growing as high as 307 feet (93.6 meters). It prefers to grow on man-made objects.

It takes 23 months for the burgundy stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are tough and woody.

The long, narrow, leathery leaves reach up to 1.3 feet (41 cm) in length. They are slate with yellow tips, and have toothed edges.

During late spring, the vine produces copious amounts of small red flowers.
