Clinging Bellfruit

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 21 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, wavy trunk covered in silky, silver and white bark, and inside, the light wood is gray.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with very large amounts of giant, wide leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either olive or hazel, with white splotches.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of medium-sized, blue blossoms with slender, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like an ocean breeze.

In early autumn it produces , slender, 6 pointed fruit. The hairy vibrant orange skin is thick and spicy, and the crunchy pink flesh is spicy and salty and very dry. The yellow seeds are tiny and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
