Orange Spine Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This small cactus grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The very thick stem is orange, and is covered in hundreds of rigid orange spines. The round body is green, and is covered in lots of flexible cream spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 20 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with solid ashy purple petals and an amber central disk, grow at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like lavender.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the caramel flesh is smooth, and the gold sap is thin.

It is slightly resistant to fire damage.
It is suitable for making paper
It comes in 75 varieties.
