Burgundy Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 44 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, wonky trunk covered in thick, rough, burgundy bark, and inside, the light wood is yellow-brown.

The branches are very long and thin and are covered with very large amounts of giant, wispy leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of lime green that gradient shifts to dark grey at the top.

In early spring, it produces clusters of giant, subtle yellow blossoms with perforated petals. They are hardy and have a powerful scent that smells like vomit.

In late autumn it produces , oval fruit. The crispy dark grey skin is thin and inedible, and the slightly crunchy peach flesh is extremely sour and sticky. The gold seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
