Climbing Puffgrass

Grass type: Annual (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This colossal, brown grass grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stalks grow in sparse patches that are flexible and they overwhelm an area rapidly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, subtle green puff.

During the mid-summer, it produces very little pollen, and after flowering, it is left with a few small grains.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
It comes in 18 varieties, each with a different leaf colour.
The sap causes severe rashes
