Coppervine

This colossal bine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 3,355 feet (1,022.6 meters) and growing as high as 915 feet (278.9 meters).

It takes 43 years for the copper stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 4.1 feet (1.2 meters) and are rough and fibrous.

The pleated, soft leaves reach up to 1.7 feet (51 cm) in length. They are solid dark grey or grey, with lime lines, and have toothed edges.

During late spring, the bine produces large amounts of small orange flowers.
