Bluevine

This modest-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 43 feet (13.1 meters) and growing as high as 443 feet (135.0 meters).

It takes 5 years for the gray-green stems to mature, by which point they often have a diameter of 2 inches (5 cm) and remain soft and fleshy.

The fan-like, soft leaves reach up to 1.5 feet (46 cm) in length. They are drab blue on the sides and brown at the center, and have ripped edges.

During late spring, the bine produces balls of tiny dark brown flowers.
