Copperstar

Flower type: Biennial (Grows and flowers repeatedly for more than two years)

This short flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its yellow stem is very thick, and the miniature, lime green and moss green leaves are dark copper on the underside and are long, tapering with tattered edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

Each stem splits 3 to 5 times; a single tiny flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with petals that are olive in the center, aquamarine in the middle and lilac at the edges. The flower head is shaped like a star made up of dozens of raised, narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has a strong scent that smells like citrus, and it has excessive amounts of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also particularly attractive to butterflies.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
