Bluebell

This large flower grows up to 5.7 feet (1.7 meters) tall. Its bold red or bold blue stem is thick, and the giant, burgundy leaves are stiff, pointed with toothed edges. 16 leaves grow at the base of the stem.

2 to 8 small flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 49 cm (19.3 inches) wide, with petals that are green on the underside and amber on the top. The flower head is made up of many petals in raised layers. They detach easily.

It has a weak scent that smells like old books, and it has copious amounts of pollen; it can can cause allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator and is ignored by most insect species.
